My body is ready. With my luck, I’ll probably get a Golf or something we can have in back in the States. I’m hoping for a 1-series or V40, though. We are going to drive about an hour to an auto museum. Duurtlang recommended the train, which is logical, but we decided it was only fitting to take a car to the cars, because Jalop or something. After that we planned to drive to Germany and basically just run the car out of fuel on the Autobahn, but we only have 200 km included before we pay overages, so we’ll probably just explore the Dutch countryside a bit.

Fuck BMW for not selling the 1-series 4-door hatch over here. But then again, they are asshats :p

If you do get one though, please let us know how it is :)

If I get anything cool I’ll let you know how it is. Actually if I get anything I’ve never driven before I’ll let you know probably.

“Premium Limousine” “1 Series, Clubman, A3, Golf, V40, or similar”

Someone needs to explain the word “Limousine” to them.

Sixt is a German company so “Limousine” translates to Sedan, even though those are hatchbacks so it’s wrong anyways.

Ah, it’s sad that I took German and didn’t know that. Is there a proper German word for hatchback?

I think they call them 3 or 5 Türer, depending on the number of “doors”.

I reserved a 1 series from Sixt back in 2013. Got to the Munich airport counter and they were like you can’t take that one way to France. So I got a B180 instead, it was actually pretty great.

Which Dutch countryside would that be? What car museum? Louwman’s? So many questions...

Louwmans. I don’t know what countryside. I assume there is one... We will probably point the car east and just drive on the motorway and exit onto smaller roads when it looks interesting. In Amsterdam for a meeting. Ends today and don’t fly back to the US until Sunday so we’re trying to fill Saturday.

Louwman’s is great, I don’t think there’s a current special exhibition like the Martini I showed two years ago.

Saturday/Sunday there’s a Volvo exhibition in the south near ‘s-Hertogenbosch, about an hour drive from The Hague (Louwman’s). But than your 200km will be (just) too little. South of the Netherlands is the best though: Brabant! (Yes, I do live there...)

Well we can pay extra. It is €0.27 per km I believe so it would add up fast. I don’t think we want to go much more than another 50 km.

You could make a visit to the Healey museum after Louwman’s. That’s not too big and near Utrecht: won’t cost that much kms or time. And Healeys are AWESOME.
